IMPORTANT & RARE Vintage 1960s SIGNED Jack Boyd Bronze & Enamel Modern BRACELET
For sale here is a SUPERB rare and huge vintage 1960s handmade one of a kind modernist design bronze cuff bracelet with abstract copper enamel plaque at top by highly sought-after and acclaimed San Diego artist craftsman Jack Boyd. An exceptional design in a large format makes this a desirable piece by this artist! His enamel jewelry hardly ever comes to the market - this is the first I've seen in years! Unusual design with Jack Boyd signature bead and wire rivets attaching the enamel plaque to the cuff bracelet as shown in photos. Purchased from the estate, and signed with rare hand-engraved signature at back. (Also, a very similar bracelet by Boyd is shown on page 6 of "San Diego's Craft Revolution" that appeared at the Mingei Museum in Balboa Park, San Diego in 2011/2012. That bracelet must have been made about the same time as this one as it's construction is identical with the only difference being the design of the enamel plaque at front. That bracelet is also attributed to the earlier 1960s part of Boyd's career.) Measures 2-1/4" wide at top - presently fits up to 7-1/2" wrist, and weighs 43.7 grams total. Hand engraved signature at back initials "JB" as shown. A very small area of crazing to the enamel as shown in my enlarged photos that doesn't show when worn, otherwise excellent vintage condition with fine light wear as shown in the photos.
